New Beginnings Charitable Foundation, also known as New Beginnings Charity, is based in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland and supports vulnerable children in Uganda through secure housing, education, medical care, rehabilitation and community outreach.

About New Beginnings

A volunteer-led charity with a practical mission

NBCF is a non-profit organisation set up by a group of volunteers in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland. New Beginnings Charity works closely with an experienced and carefully selected team in Africa to help bring a better quality of life to some of Uganda's most vulnerable children.

The mission is to provide resources that allow secure housing, educational and medical facilities to be developed and maintained for underprivileged and orphaned children in Uganda.

  • Medical monitoring and care for each child's needs.
  • Guidance and counselling, especially during arrival and transition.

Our work

Care that reaches beyond one moment

Rehabilitation

Children arrive from a wide range of underprivileged backgrounds. New Beginnings offers counselling, guidance and a secure, family-orientated home environment.

Education

Children are encouraged in academic, vocational and life skills so they can become productive, self-sustainable members of their community.

Outreach

10% of annual donations are dedicated to community outreach in Nakasongola District, helping with homes, livestock, books, medicine, mattresses and mosquito nets.

The children

A day shaped by learning, care and community

Village life is structured around school, meals, responsibilities, recreation and worship. The aim is a stable routine where children are cared for, encouraged and prepared for the future.

1Rise at 5am, chores and preparation for school.
2Study across maths, science, English, history and more.
3Recreation including football, singing, baking and gardening.
4Shared meals including rice, beans and other staples.
5Worship, testimonies, Bible study and prayer time.
